Messier 107

Messier 107 (also known as NGC 6171 ) is a 8.10 like bright globular cluster in the constellation Ophiuchus. The globular cluster has a relatively open structure and its peripheral areas extend as visible on long-exposure photographs, up to a diameter of 13 '. Its distance is about 21,000 light-years. M107 is unattractive because of its southern location for observers in central Europe.
