Metacomet-Monadnock Trail

The Metacomet - Monadnock Trail (English Metacomet - Monadnock Trail, often abbreviated MM or MM ) is a 183 km ( 114 miles ) long distance footpath in the states of Massachusetts and New Hampshire in the United States. The trail runs north -south direction and crosses several state parks.

The road is named after its endpoints. On the border of the states of Massachusetts and Connecticut, the path leads to the beginning of the Metacomet - trail ( Metacomet Trail ) which runs through Connecticut. In the north, the trail extends to Mount Monadnock, a mountain island (English: Monadnock, probably from the Abenakisprache ) in southern New Hampshire.

The Metacomet - Monadnock Trail is maintained by the Appalachian Mountain Club. About half of the trail runs through private land.
