MeteoGroup

MeteoGroup is a company for weather forecasts. It is the largest company of its kind in Europe with offices in Belgium, Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Singapore, Spain, the United States of America and England.

MeteoGroup is part of the PA Group, an international group for news, information and communication, which includes the Press Association and belongs since 2013, founded by Jörg Kachelmann Swiss Meteo Media (new name internationally mm ).

History

MeteoGroup was established in 1986 under the name of Meteo Consult BV founded one of the first private weather companies in Europe. Founder was the famous Dutch television weather presenter Harry Otten.

In 1993, MeteoConsult the first company outside the Netherlands: a joint venture in Berlin was built for the German market, which passed in 1998 in the 100% -owned German subsidiary MC- weather. MC- weather concentrated in the first years of meteorological applications in the economic sphere.

Meanwhile conquered MeteoConsult on the European market in 1996, the Dutch acquired a majority shareholding in the Belgian weather service Meteo Services. Two years later, the Berlin company also MeteoGraphics specializing in weather visualization systems, part of Meteo Consult. MeteoGraphics and MC Weather merged in 2008 to MeteoGroup Germany.

Then became the majority shareholder in the parent company Meteo Consult BV in May 2005 acquired by the PA Group.
