Anthranilic acid is a chemical compound selected from the group of carboxylic acid esters and aminobenzenes.
Occurrence
The compound occurs naturally in cocoa, coffee, grapes, grapefruit, jasmine, lemons, limes, strawberries and mandarin oranges as well as in many flower oils (eg, neroli, ylang -ylang ).
Production and representation
Anthranilic acid can be produced by esterification of anthranilic acid with methanol or by reacting methanol with Benzoxazinedion.
Properties
It is a flammable, colorless to yellowish solid with a fruity odor, which is sparingly soluble in water. Its aqueous solution has a pH of 7.5-8 (20 ° C). Under UV light it has a bluish fluorescence.
Use
Anthranilic acid is used as a perfume for the production of ointments, and synthetic fragrances. It will be used in a variety of flower - perfumes.
