Metisse

Metisse is a 2.5D desktop, based on the X Window System. The window manager is included in the Linux distributions Mandriva One 2007 and Sabayon Linux.

Special

Metisse has many features that make it stand out from the larger 3D Desktop Compiz project: for example, windows can be rotated in three dimensions in all directions. This is possible only with the in Compiz in development befindlichend Freewins module. Metisse is not focuses on visually stunning effects such as the " wobbly window" into Compiz. Instead, functionality and productivity have a higher priority for the developers.
