Mexican Academy of Sciences

The Mexican Academy of Sciences ( it.: Academia Mexicana de Ciencias, s: . Mexican Academy of Sciences ( AMC) ) is a non-governmental Academy of Sciences in Mexico.

History

The Academy was founded on August 12, 1959 in Mexico City.

Organization

The Mexican Academy of Sciences is divided into two classes, the class of the exact and natural sciences as well as humanities and social sciences. The Academy includes 1847 full members and 58 associate members, including nine Nobel Prize winners (as of 2007).

Geographically, the Academy is divided into three regions, the central region, the South West 1 region, 2 region of the Southwest, the Northwest Region and the Northeast Region.

There are several independent scientific institutes, laboratories and other scientific institutions.
