Mianus (neighborhood)

Mianus is a town in Fairfield County of the U.S. state of Connecticut. The place belongs politically to the city of Greenwich, bordering the districts of Cos Cob, Riverside, North Mianus and Palmers Hill.

The village is located about 7 m above sea level on the western bank of the mouth of the eponymous river in the Long Iceland Sound, which forms the elongated bay Cos Cob Harbor. About this run a railway and two roads from eastern Stamford to Greenwich and on to New York City. Mianus is located on the northeast edge of the metropolitan area of New York City. Manhattan is around 40 km away.

Former names of the town were Upper Landing and Mayamus. Gained fame Mianus by the MTV show Jackass, was in the cannibalized that Mianus like my anus is pronounced (my anus).
