Michael Aggelidis

Michael George Aggelidis ( born June 7, 1962 in Dormagen ) is a German politician of the Left Party in North Rhine -Westphalia.

Life and career

Michael Aggelidis studied law in Berlin and Cologne, and since 1995 in Bonn as a lawyer in private practice with a focus on care law and matrimonial and family law. He is married and has one child.

Political activity

Michael Aggelidis was a longtime member of the SPD and PDS, and a co-founder of the Electoral Alternative for Work and Social Justice ( WASG ). Since its association with the PDS to the Left Party he is there politically active.

Aggelidis is a member of the executive committee NRW the Left Party and Counsel of the State Association and its energy policy spokesman. He is a member of Greenpeace, EUR nature and the Association of Energy Consumers Counsel and Deputy Managing Director with the education community SALT.

In the state elections in North Rhine -Westphalia 2010 Michael Aggelidis ran as a direct candidate for The Left in Parliament constituency Bonn and I was number 10 in the state list of selected delegates of the 15th state parliament of North Rhine -Westphalia. In the election of 2012 left fell below the 5 % threshold, so that Aggelidis retired from parliament. In the general election in 2013 he was a candidate in the parliamentary constituency Düren for the direct mandate on the state list, he was not prepared.
