Michael Badnarik

Michael J. Badnarik ( born August 1, 1954 in Hammond, Indiana) is an American software engineer and politician. He was the presidential candidate of the Libertarian Party for the presidential election of 2004.

Badnarik sat down at the Libertarian National Convention through until the third ballot against Aaron Russo. For his running mate as a candidate to the vice-presidency Richard Campagna was chosen. In the presidential elections Badnarik received 397,265 votes; this corresponded to a share of 0.32 percent and earned him fourth place behind George W. Bush, John Kerry and Ralph Nader.

For the election of the House of Representatives in 2006 Badnarik ran in the 10th congressional district of Texas. He reached a vote share of 4.3 percent.
