Michael Harish

Michael Charisch (Hebrew מיכאל חריש, born November 28, 1936 in Timişoara ) is a former Israeli politician. From 1974 to 1996, he was consistently member of the Knesset for Mapai and its successor, the Avodah. Under Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres, he was from 1992 to 1996 Minister of Trade and Industry, in the parliamentary elections in Israel 1996, he lost his seat in Parliament and thus his ministerial post.

Michael Charisch emigrated in 1950 as an Oleh to Israel. His military service, he served in the Golani Brigade, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, he completed a degree in economics and political science.
