Michael Jakobs

Michael Jacob ( born July 18, 1959 in Oberhausen ) is a former German football player.

Career

Jacob began his career at senior level in the then third-tier federation League Lower Rhine, where he was employed for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. From 1978, he spent two years playing in the 2nd Bundesliga for the SG Wattenscheid 09, before he moved to the Bundesliga for VfL Bochum. Then played the trained Vorstopper for FC Schalke 04 and Hertha BSC. Overall, Michael Jacob played 196 first division and second division 167 games and scored 18 goals. In the 1990/91 season, he had to finish in Berlin his career as a sports invalids and opened in the following years along with his teammate Wolfgang Patzke an outpatient rehab center in Berlin.

He is the brother of Ditmar Jakobs.
