Michael Käld

Michael Käld ( born May 6, 1954 in Kruunupyy ) is a Finnish football coach and former football player. Since 2001, he coached the Finnish national team of women.

As a player Käld for the second division clubs GBK Kokkola, Hovsala BK and BK Larsmo was active. After his playing career he was at KBK Kokkola coach of the men's second team, before joining Nykarleby IK. In 2000 he took over the women's team of FC United Pietarsaari and led to the Cup victory and runner-up.

A year later Käld was appointed coach of the Finnish women's team. Under his leadership, the team qualified for the 2005 European Championships in England, where the Finnish selection surprisingly reached the semifinals.
