Michael Kanin

Michael Kanin ( born 1 February 1910 in Rochester, New York, † March 12, 1993 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American award-winning screenwriter.

Life

With his brother Garson Kanin worked together in various stage shows. At the same time he worked as a performer and composer for commercials. Kanin in 1939 by RKO was taken as a scriptwriter under contract. There he met his future wife, Fay, whom he married in 1940. After his move to MGM Kanin won together with his partner Ring Lardner Jr. 1942 Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the film The woman, of whom you are speaking. After a further nomination for the Oscar (1958 for Teacher's Pet ) to rabbit turned to the production. His most recent film work was the screenplay for the Bob Hope movie How to Commit Marriage.
