Michael Keating (Irish politician)

Michael Keating ( born September 29, 1946) is an Irish politician and sat from 1977 to 1989 in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament.

Keating was elected in 1977 for Fine Gael in the 21st Dáil Éireann. Overall, he was re-elected for Fine Gael three more times. During the 22 Dáil Éireann Keating was dated 30 June 1981 to March 1982 Minister of State in the Ministry of Education. In 1986 he joined the newly formed Progressive Democrats, and was elected for them also at the following elections. In 1989, he opted not to run again.

Keating held from June 1983 to July 1984, the Office of the Lord Mayor of Dublin ( Lord Mayor of Dublin).
