Michael Mulcahy (Irish politician)

Michael Mulcahy (Irish Mícheál Ó Maolchatha, born June 23, 1960) is an Irish politician and since 2002 a deputy in the lower house of the Irish Parliament.

Mulcahy attended the St. Conleth 's College in Dublin and studied at Trinity College, University of Dublin and later at King 's Inns. Since 1985, Mulcahy has worked as a barrister in Dublin. 1985 Mulcahy was also first elected to the Dublin Corporation, the forerunner of the Dublin City Council for the Fianna Fáil party, whose member he remained until 2003. In this time he practiced from 2001 to 2002 the office of Mayor of Dublin ( Lord Mayor of Dublin) from. On 13 December 1994 Taoiseach Albert Reynolds Mulcahy nominated as a senator for the 20th Seanad Éireann, to fill a vacant seat. Mulcahy remained in that post until 1997. May 2002 succeeded Mulcahy in the Dáil Éireann to be elected and since then to stay Teachta Dala.
