Michael Spies

Michael Spies ( born July 9, 1965 in Stuttgart) is a former football player. Overall, he went to for seven different clubs in the Premier League, which is a record. With three other he played second-rate. Title were denied him, but with the SpVgg Unterhaching and VfL Wolfsburg he succeeded in the 1990s, the promotion to the Bundesliga.

Career

Michael Spies came in 1983 from the Stuttgarter Kickers to VfB Stuttgart where he only played in the Amateur Oberliga Baden- Württemberg. In the season 1985/86 he played his first games in the Bundesliga for VfB Stuttgart. In the final of the DFB-Pokal, the Stuttgart with 2:5 lost against Bayern Munich, he came on at half-time for Michael Nushöhr. After that, the young midfielder moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for SSV Ulm 1846. Following year he returned to the Bundesliga, where in 1987 he signed a contract at Karlsruher SC signed. Here he was able to fight for a regular place. In his second and final season for the Baden he scored ten goals and was the top scorer of his team. For the 1989/90 season he moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach for which he played two seasons. But he lost in the second year of his place and then moved to Hansa Rostock.

At Hansa Rostock, who had just come as one of the first two East German clubs after the reunification in the Bundesliga, Spies quickly became a regular player and was the top scorer with 13 goals. But this could not prevent the descent of the Hanseatic League.

In the return match in the European Cup of Champions ( first leg 0-3 ) against Barcelona he scored the 1-0 winning goal. Spies joined in 1992 with further Rostock players, including Florian Weichert, for Hamburger SV. But here Spies could never prevail, which is why he moved to Dynamo Dresden after two seasons. Here Spies became again for a regular player, but he rose with Dynamo after the 1994/95 season in the Bundesliga from. The Dresden even had to dismount due to the withdrawal of licenses in the Regionalliga Nord. He then moved to VfL Wolfsburg. After two seasons in the second division Spies succeeded in 1995 with Wolfsburg's promotion to the Bundesliga in which he made his seventh and final station. After the season, followed by another transfer, this time to the second division for SpVgg Unterhaching, where he only played four games. He moved in 1999 to VfB Lübeck, where in the Regionalliga Nord he ended his professional career after the 2000/ 01 season.

Currently Spies lives in my ( Gifhorn ). Michael Spies was in the 2008/2009 season coach at the district Oberliga SSV Kästorf. In September 2011, Spies Holger Ballwanz followed as manager of the land division SSV Vorsfelde.
