Michael Suess

Michael Sweet ( born December 25, 1963 in Munich) is a German manager. He is a member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO of the Energy Sector.

Life

Sweet studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and worked while studying as a technical assistant in the foundry at BMW. In 1989, he began his career as a production engineer at BMW in Munich. In 1994 he received his doctorate at the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Kassel Dr. rer. pol.

After stints at BMW, IDRA Press SpA in Italy and Porsche AG Sweet was appointed to the Board of Mössner AG in Munich in 1999. After the takeover by the Georg Fischer Group Sweet was CEO of GF Mössner GmbH. In 2001 he took over the management (COO ) MTU Aero Engines GmbH in Munich. After the IPO, the company's Sweet joined the Board of MTU Aero Engines Holding AG where he was responsible for the area of ​​technology. 2006 Sweet went to Siemens AG and was Executive Vice President in the Business Unit Power Generation. Since April 2011 Sweet is a member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Energy Industries.

Since 2013 Michael Sweet is a lecturer at the Technical University of Munich.

Personal

Michael Sweet is married and has four children.
