Michael Wagner (footballer)

Michael Wagner ( born December 18, 1975 in Vienna) is an Austrian football player.

Career

The Wiener began his career in the youth in Vienna Austria. In 1994 he came before he moved to the German Bundesliga SC Freiburg 1996 in the first team of violets. After a year at the Breisgauern he returned to his hometown of Vienna and played for one season at local rivals his tribe clubs Austria, namely at Rapid. Here he was Austrian Vice Champion; during the summer break in 1998 but Wagner was again a violet and signed again in Austria.

With his old club he was in season 2002/ 03 Austrian champion and won in the same year the OFB Cup in the final against FC Kärnten. At the same time, he also played a total of ten times in the national team, he had given on 21 August 2002 in the friendly match against Switzerland with team principal Hans Krankl his debut.

Following the international peak with the UEFA Cup quarter- finals in 2005, the then Austria- captain moved to VfB Admira Wacker Mödling. After the Bundesliga relegation of Südstadt residents Wagner went to ASK Schwadorf in the East Regional, where he rose to the second-class First League in the summer of 2007. End of 2007, his contract with Schwadorf was terminated.

Since January 2009, Wagner is a player-coach at Gymnastics and Sports Union Obergänserndorf.
