Michael Wilford

Michael Wilford, CBE, FRSA ( born September 9, 1938 in Hartfield, East Sussex ) is a British architect.

Wilford was for many years a partner of James Stirling ( 1960 ). In 1971 she founded the Joint Office James Stirling, Michael Wilford and Associates, which existed up to Stirling's death in 1992. Since 2002, Wilford, together with Manuel Schupp and Stephan Gerstner CEO of Wilford Schupp Architekten, Stuttgart.

A typical for Wilford building is the British Embassy in Berlin.

Wilford is Commander of the British Empire ( CBE), a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Singapore Institute of Architects, the Royal Institute of Arbitrators and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. The Association of German Architects, he is honorary member. He teaches architecture at universities in Australia, Britain, Canada and the United States.
