Michael Wolf (photographer)

Michael Wolf (born 1954 in Munich) is a German - American photographer.

Life

Michael Wolf grew up in California, studied at Berkeley and at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. In 1994, he went for the star as a photojournalist to Hong Kong. Wolf lived for ten years in China. For several years, he lives with his family in Paris. He works as a freelance photographer.

His installation, The Real Toy Story was seen already in Hong Kong, Chicago, and in the Hamburg Museum of Work. In 2005 he received a World Press Photo Award in the Category Contemporary Issues Stories. After his series of underground and high-rise images from Tokyo and Hong Kong, he published his 2011 photographed by Google Street View, highly magnified image sections of random finds. For his series of random events Google Street View images on it in 2011 received the World Press Photo Award Honorable mention one, an honorable mention.
