Michael Zellmer

Michael Zellmer ( born August 14, 1977 in Oldenburg ) is a former German water polo national team and two -time Olympian.

Michael Zellmer played until 2003 for Waspo Hannover- Linden, since 2003 he plays for the successor SG W98/Waspo Hanover. With Waspo he won in 1998 and 2003, the German Cup, as well as 1998 and 2000, the German Supercup.

From 1997 to 2008 Zellmer played for the German national water polo team, usually as the second goalkeeper Alexander Tchigir next. He participated in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, when the German team came in fifth, and at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in part ( 10th place ). In the water polo World Cup 2005, the German team was ranked 9, 2007 the team came in eighth. 2003 and 2008 the team finished sixth at the European Championships. Zellmer completed in this time 267 internationals. ( 29 August 2008 ). Since January 1, 2009 Michael Zellmer acts as first full-time team manager of the German water polo national team of men.
