Michaela Haas

Michaela Haas, from 2001 Michaela Maxwell (born 1970 in Erding ) is a German journalist, television presenter and author.

Life

Michaela Haas grew up as the daughter of a business consultant and a judicial secretary at Munich. Even as a student she wrote from the age of 16 posts for the Erdinger local edition of the Süddeutsche Zeitung. An education at the German School of Journalism, she graduated from with a degree in journalism. Simultaneously, she studied at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich journalism, philosophy and sociology. In 1994, Giovanni di Lorenzo it as a reporter for the page three of the Süddeutsche Zeitung. The end of 1997 interrupted for a few years their activities in Germany to work as a freelance correspondent abroad and study in Nepal and France. As of 2001, it stood at WDR and ARD under the name Michaela Maxwell front of the camera, then at Bayerischer Rundfunk again under the name Michaela Haas. 2008 she completed her doctorate at the Asian Institute of the Rheinische Friedrich- Wilhelm University of Bonn in philosophy. She lives in Germany near Munich, in Malibu, California.

TV presenter

From 1994 to 1996 Michaela Haas moderated the 90-minute youth talk show Live from the Alabama on Bavarian television. According to the concept of the program was discussed on controversial or in the public regarded as sensitive issues of the day, for example through genetic engineering or AIDS and brought Michaela Haas recognition and praise as well as difficulties. In America, she writes regularly for the Huffington Post and the Washington Post.

2013 appeared from her the book Dakini Power with twelve biographies of women who work as teachers of Tibetan Buddhism.
