Michał Sołowow

Michał Sołowow ( born July 11, 1962 in Kielce ) is a Polish entrepreneur and a major investor in the Polish market. In his spare time he operated successfully as a rally driver. He is one of the richest Poles.

Life

Sołowow visited the Hanka Sawicka High School in Kielce and studied at the Technical University. He is married and lives with his family in Masłów near Kielces. His fortune is estimated at around two billion dollars. This puts it in accordance with the 2013er Forbes Special Edition The World's Billionaires on position 736 of the richest people and on the third place among the richest Poland.

Entrepreneur

In the late 1980s Sołowow took over the construction company Mitex, which he sold to the French construction group Eiffage in 2002. Even with the purchase and subsequent sale of the home improvement chain Nomi Dom i Ogród to the British retail group Kingfisher he could increase his fortune. He participated in the chemical company Dwory and financed its growth through cheap loans. Later he diversifierte his fortune through investments in companies in the chemical and construction supply industry and real estate development. Frequently he took over companies that were on the verge of bankruptcy and he could lead to profitability after a successful turnaround again. Through its investments Sołowow invested in other countries of Eastern and Central Europe, as in Lithuania, Romania, Russia, Ukraine or Hungary. For his activities in the Ukraine, he was honored by the Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland with a price investors. About the Luxembourg holding company Enco the German construction market sales Meissen ceramics and the associated wall tiles Meissen factory was taken over in 2010.

For a while Sołowow interested in the Polish media industry. So he bought the weekly magazine Przekrój, the newspapers Życie Warszawy and echo Dnia and the former Kielce radio station Radio TAK (now part of RMF Maxxx ). Sołowow took at the age of 17 years for the first time in a car race in the Polish KJS class ( Konkursowa Jazda Samochodem ) part. Lack of financial resources, he was unable to continue the hobby.
