Michel Albert

Michel Albert ( born February 25, 1930 in Fontenay -le- Comte, France ) is a French economist.

Life

In the years 1978 to 1981 was head of the Commissariat général du Albert plan directly to the Prime Minister assumed authority for planning of economic policy. From 1982 to 1994 he was President of the French insurance company Assurances Générales de France, later a subsidiary of Allianz AG. From 1994 to 2003 he was a member of the monetary policy committee of the French National Bank. In the scientific field, he is a permanent member and secretary for life of the Académie des sciences morales et politiques ( " Academy of Moral and Political Sciences ") of the Institut de France. He is a member of the Pontifical Foundation Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice ( CAPP ).

Michel Albert is also since the 1960s in the political and economic field active in journalism. His most famous work is capitalism versus capitalism, in which he coined the term " Rhenish capitalism ".
