Microfauna

As microfauna or microorganisms is called the benthic organisms that are smaller than 0.2 mm. Organisms, which are larger, the Mesofauna are allocated ( from 0.2 mm to 2 mm).

To microfauna are about the micro-organisms ( protozoa ) and small nematodes and rotifers. They usually live as saprophytes or as bacterial predators in the pore spaces of the soil. Most animals of this fauna are able to adverse living conditions to form cysts and thus partially to survive for years.
