Middle East Journal

The Middle East Journal ( MEJ ) is a Washington DC from the Middle East Institute published English-language journal. The first edition appeared in 1947 and is the oldest, after the peer review process peer-reviewed, scientific journal of the United States, which is engaged in the Middle East to the present time.

The Journal is published quarterly. It analyzes and reports on the political and economic development, on the cultural heritage and the ethnic and religious diversity of the Middle East.

The Middle East Institute defined the Middle East as a region which the south-western Asia and northern Africa spans, ie, from Morocco to Pakistan, including the Caucasus region. Therefore, the Middle East Journal covers content from all of these areas, although in Germany under the Middle East a smaller region is understood.
