Międzybórz, Łódź Voivodeship

Międzybórz is a village in Poland and one of the urban and rural community Opoczno, powiat Opoczyński, Łódź Voivodeship.

Geography

Międzybórz is located on the east bank of the river Drzewiczka. The village is located 5 km northeast of Opoczno.

History

The first written mention of the village date back to the sixteenth century.

January Łaski, 1456-1531 Grand Chancellor of the Crown, the Archbishop of Gniezno, remembers that Międzybórz from 1510 belonged to the Roman Catholic parish in Libiszów.

In the following centuries, the village changed hands several times.

In the years 1948-1969, the village belonged to Libiszów and in the years 1969-1975 to Bukowiec Opoczyński. Since 1975 Międzybórz part of the municipality Opoczno.

Between 1975 and 1998, the village belonged to the province Piotrków.
