Mielęcin, Pyrzyce County

Mielęcin [ mjɛlɛnt͡ɕin ] ( German name: Mellentin, old spelling: Mellenthin ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the urban and rural community Gmina Pyrzyce ( Pomerania ) in the powiat Pyrzycki ( Pomerania ).

Geography

The village is situated in the Neumark, about 8 km south of Pyrzyce ( Pomerania ) and 45 km south-east of Szczecin.

History

The village was the seat of the noble family of the von Mellenthin. As such, it is first mentioned in 1250 in records.
