Miguel Treviño Morales

Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales, also known as Z -40 ( born November 18, 1970 in Nuevo Laredo), is a Mexican drug lord and leader of Los Zetas, a notorious because of its violent criminal organization.

Criminal career

In the late 1990s he became a member of Los Zetas, without that he had military training. From 2005 he took control of the drug trade in Nuevo Laredo. By mid- 2012, he led against Heriberto Lazcano, a major drug kingpin of Los Zetas, an internal power struggle.

His younger brother, Oscar Omar Treviño Morales (aka Z -42) is also considered a leading member of Los Zetas. Another brother, José Treviño Morales, was arrested on June 12, 2012 in the U.S. on suspicion of money laundering. He is said to have extended the criminal activities of drug cartels on the U.S. by he bred racehorses with the financial assistance of his two brothers and washed by horse betting money.

Treviño Morales was on the list of 37 most wanted drug lords in Mexico. The Mexican government had exposed for information leading to his arrest, a reward of two million U.S. dollars and the U.S. such of five million U.S. dollars.

On 15 July 2013, was arrested on a country road in Nuevo Laredo along with two other members of the band of Mexican marines. In addition, when accessing were two million U.S. dollars, seized eight guns and 500 rounds of ammunition. His car was stopped by a helicopter landed in front of it.
