Miguel Zacarías

Miguel Zacarias Nogaim ( born March 19, 1905 in Mexico City, † April 20, 2006 in Cuernavaca ) was a Mexican film director, producer and screenwriter. He is one of the most influential film personalities in the " Golden Age of Mexican film ".

Biography

Miguel Zacarias was born the son of Lebanese immigrants. In the early 1930s he lived briefly in the United States where she learned the film craft know. His debut film as writer, director and producer was Sobre las olas ( 1933). His most successful works were Soledad (1947 ), El dolor de los hijos (1949) and Juana Gallo (Eng. The Wretched of the Rio Grande, 1961). He was active until the 1980s.

Under Zacarias ' Director to María Félix, Jorge Negrete, Pedro Armendáriz, Cantinflas and Marga López developed to stars of Mexican cinema.

1993, 50 years after the beginning of his film work, he received a "Golden Ariel " in recognition of his contribution to the film in Mexico.

Zacarias died at the age of 101 years from heart failure.
