Mikael Pernfors

Mikael Pernfors (* July 16, 1963 in Malmö) is a former Swedish tennis player.

His only final at a Grand Slam tournament, he reached in 1986, when he switched off in the quarter- finals of the French Open Boris Becker in the semifinals and Henri Leconte. In the final he defeated then the former world number 1 in Tennis Ivan Lendl.

With the Swedish team, he was in 1986 in the Davis Cup final, which Australia won 3-2 against Sweden.

In 1996, he finished his career as a tennis player. In total he won three singles and one doubles title. His highest placement at the Tennis World Ranking position was 10 in 1986.
