Mike MacKenzie (politician)

Mike MacKenzie ( born November 18, 1958 in Oban ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party ( SNP). MacKenzie attended Allan Glen 's School and then went to the University of Glasgow. Subsequently, he and his wife moved in 1980 to the small and very sparsely populated island of Easdale, an island of the Slate Islands. There he worked as a fisherman and then founded a construction company.

For the first time MacKenzie joined the Scottish Parliament elections 2011, to national elections. He applied for a mandate for election Highlands and Islands. As a result of the election result MacKenzie won one of the seven regional envelopes and pulled the first time in the Scottish Parliament.
