Michael Alan "Mike" Pelfrey ( born January 14, 1984 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio) is an American professional baseball player in Major League Baseball. Pelfrey has been playing his MLB debut for the New York Mets and acts on the position of the pitcher. It belongs to the group of so-called power pitcher. These are players who achieve particularly large number of strikeouts.

Career

During his training Mike Pelfrey played at Wichita State University in Wichita. In MLB Draft 2005, he was selected in the first round by the New York Mets. There was half a year full contract negotiations. Pelfrey was considered one of the greatest talents and wanted to be paid above average for a rookie. On 10 January 2006, the parties finally agreed on a contract. The player is awarded a contract for four seasons, in addition to a fixed salary of 5.3 million U.S. dollars secured him a bonus for signing in the amount of 3.5 million U.S. dollars.

After a brief period in the minor league teams of the Mets, he debuted on 7 July 2006 in the National League, where he secured his first MLB same -Win at 17:3 victory against the Florida Marlins. In his first season in the MLB Pelfrey came four times to use.

Since 2007
