The Wichita State University is a public university in Wichita, Kansas. Currently, about 14,000 students are enrolled.

History

The college was founded in 1886 as a private Fairmont College. The first students were enrolled in 1895, which is also the official founding year of university. In 1926 she was nationalized and renamed Municipal University of Wichita. It was given its present name in 1964.
