Mike Posner
Mike Posner ( born February 12, 1988 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American singer, songwriter and producer.

Life and career
Mike Posner was born the son of a pharmacist and a lawyer in Detroit. His father is a Jew and his mother a Roman Catholic. He attended Wylie E. Groves High School and then went to Duke University. In high school, his music was influenced more by hip hop, as you can clearly hear in his mixtape Reflections of a Lost Teen.
With Don Cannon and DJ Benzi he took in March 2009 in his dorm room at Duke University, his first mixtape, A Matter of Time on. In July 2009, Posner signed a recording contract with the major label J Records (RCA / Sony). After signing the contract, he returned to Duke University. On weekends, he recorded his debut album and gave concerts. His second mixtape One Foot Out the Door, hosted by Clinton Sparks, was released on October 27, 2009.
His debut album 31 Minutes to Takeoff was released on September 10, 2010. The first single Cooler Than Me reached the Billboard Hot 100 ranked 6th in the U.S. he then had some hits in Europe but he has been unable to the success of Cooler than Me build.
