Mikhail An

Mikhail Ivanovich An ( Russian Михаил Иванович Ан; korean 미하일 안, . Born November 19, 1953 in the Tashkent Oblast, Uzbek SSR, USSR; † August 11, 1979 near Dneprodzerzhinsk ) was a Soviet football player.

Mikhail On belonged to the Korean minority ( Korjo - Saram ) in the Soviet Union and was born in the Uzbek SSR, near the present-day Uzbek capital Tashkent. There he also began playing football at Politotdel Tashkent Oblast. At age 17 he moved to Pachtakor Tashkent, where he was employed until 1979 in more than 230 games and scored 50 goals. He played on the position of midfielder. In 1978 he also completed two caps for the Soviet national football team.

In 1979, the team of Pachtakor flew to a game in Minsk, during the flight, however, pushed the engine of the team, a Tupolev Tu-134, along with another aircraft and crashed near the city Dneprodserschynsk. The entire team of Pachtakor Tashkent was killed.

His elder brother Dmitri was also football players.
