Mikhail Gutseriyev

Mikhail Safarbekowitsch Gutseriyev (Russian Михаил Сафарбекович Гуцериев; born March 9, 1958 in Akmolinsk, Kazakh SSR ) is a Russian businessman and politician.

Life

Gutseriyev studied at the Moscow Petroleum Institute in Moscow and the Department of Economics and Economic Sciences in Leningrad law. In 1992 he founded the Russian financial institution AM Bank. 1995 Gutseriyev was elected to the Russian Duma and 2000, re-elected to the Duma as a deputy. January 2000, he was elected Chairman of the Russian company OAO NGK Slavneft, 2002, he launched the Russian company Russneft. According to the U.S. magazine Forbes magazine Gutseriyev is one of the richest Russians.

In July 2007, Gutseriyev announced in public that the Russian government is exerting pressure on him. He told his Russian company Russneft to Basowy element belonging to the Russian businessman Oleg Deripaska to sell. Trigger of this pressure was the Russian politicians Murat Zyazikov, the then President of the Russian region of Ingushetia, who provided more financial demands on Gutseriyev that had rejected this. In August 2007, died Guzerijews son after an unexplained stop. Gutseriyev lives since 2008 in the UK. The Russian government has made an extradition request to the British government. He is married to Oksana Gutseriyev and has children.
