Míl Espáine

Miled, also Míl [m ʴ i ː l ʴ ], Míl Espáne, Míl Espáine or Latinized Milesius, is a figure of Celtic mythology of Ireland, with the Goidels eponymous ancestor Goidel glass ( from the Welsh Gwyddel, " Irishman ", gwydd, " forest "). Míl Espáne is derived from the Latin Hispaniae miles ( " soldier of Spain ").

In Lebor Gabala Eirenn Miled is considered the ancestor of the Gaels, son of Bile ( in a different version than his nephew ), grandson of Bregon, as well as a descendant of Agnomain. He performs with his sons Éber and Eremon to the last of the invasions, that of the Milesians in Ireland, by the Tuatha de Danaan lose their power over Ireland and into the earth ( Síd ) or retreat to islands across the sea to the Otherworld.
