Milen Veltchev

Milen Velchev Emilow (also Milen Velchev Emilov written; Bulgarian Милен Емилов Велчев; born March 24, 1966 in Sofia, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian financial expert, politician of the party NDWS, members of the London "Bulgarian City Club " and former Finance Minister.

Life

Milen Velchev was born on 24 March 1966 in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. In 1988, he completed a degree in International Relations at the Higher Institute of Economics Karl Marx (now the University of National and World Economy ) in Sofia from. In 1993, the Master of Business Administration at the University of Rochester and 1995 in Financial Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1994, he worked as an assistant at Chemical Bank of New York.

From 1995 to 2001 Velchev was actuated at the investment bank Merrill Lynch in London. There he met Kiril Saxe-Coburg Gotha know.

2001 Velchev was elected to the Lister NDWS as the deputy to the Bulgarian Parliament. Shortly thereafter he was appointed Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha as finance minister in his cabinet. He held until 2005, until he participated as a candidate of the NMSS for mayor Boyko Borisov in Sofia and was subject to this office. In the parliamentary elections the same year Velchev was re-elected MPs. In the formation of a government in which the NDWS was entered into a grand coalition with the DPS and the BSP Plamen Oresharski Finance. Velchev remained actuated as a member of parliament and was Deputy Chairman of the Budget Committee.

In the parliamentary elections on July 5, 2009, NMSS failed with 3 % of the votes in the electoral threshold of 4%. Since November 2009 Velchev is a member of the National Board of the NMSS.

Family

Milen Velchev is married and has a son. His brother is the big hotel owner Georgi Velchev.
