Stoyan Alexandrov

Stoyan Alexandrov Iliew (also Stoyan Iliev Alexandrov written; Bulgarian Стоян Илиев Александров; born June 14, 1949 in Ilija in Kyustendil, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian financial expert, politician and former Minister of Finance.

Life

Stoyan Alexandrov was born on June 14, 1949 in West Bulgarian village Ilija. After the completion of studies in the field of economics with the fan banks and credit system of the Academy of Economics in Svishtov Alexandrov works in the branch of the Bulgarian National Bank in Kyustendil. After that (now University of National and World Economy ) makes a lecturer at the Higher Institute of Economics Karl Marx in Sofia.

After the fall of communism Alexandrov was the early 1990s, director of the tax authority. He became finance minister in 1992 in the Cabinet of the non-party Liuben Berov. Under his leadership, the Bulgarian foreign debt has been restructured. During his tenure, a VAT in Bulgaria was introduced from 1 April 1994.

After the fall of the Cabinet of Berov 1994 Stoyan Alexandrov Chairman of Central Cooperative Bank and later the Demir Bank Bulgaria. 2003 Aleksandrov was established by the Bulgarian Socialist candidate for the mayoral elections in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. However, the election was won by the incumbent Stefan Sofianski.
