Milgranet

Milgranet is a red grape that is grown in the wine region of Sud -Ouest in the south of France only in the area of Toulouse (east of Montauban ). It provides a powerful and deeply colored red wine provides and comes in the Vin de Qualité Supérieur Delimité (short VDQS ) Weeping Vins de Lavilledieu used. There is also a white variety of the same name.

Synonyms

MigraNet is also known under the name Petite merille. Despite the name it is not related to the grape variety merille. Another synonym is Périgord Noir.

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In the ampelography the habit is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. She is hairy and white wool dyed crimson. The young green leaves are slightly hairy and woolly bronze mottled ( Anthocyanflecken ).
  • The medium-sized leaves are five-lobed and deeply sinuate ( see also the article sheet form). The petiole is V-shaped open. The leaf margin is serrated blunt. The teeth are closely set. The leaf surface (also called leaf blade ) is slightly blistered.
  • The cone - shaped to cylindrical grape is small to medium in size, shouldered and dichtbeerig. The roundish berries are medium in size and of a black - blue color.

Milgranet casts out late and so often escapes late spring frosts. The grape ripens almost 20 days after the Chasselas. It is thus considered still early maturing. MigraNet is a variety of the noble vine (Vitis vinifera ). It is sensitive to powdery mildew and can withstand the heat very poorly in the coastal area of the Mediterranean.
