Military Ordinariate in Italy

The Italian Military Ordinariate ( Ordinariato militare in Italia ) is a Military Ordinariate in Italy and responsible for the Italian armed forces.

History

The Italian Military Ordinariate cared for members of the Italian armed forces of Catholic religious affiliation pastoral. It was Pope Pius XI. created as a military vicariate on March 6, 1925. After a mutual decision between the Holy See and the Republic of Italy, the seat of the Italian Military Ordinariate in Rome. It was elevated to a diocese by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution spirituality Soldiers curae on July 21, 1986.
