Military Pay

The military pay is one of Germany's money and in kind for military duty soldiers of the Bundeswehr, according to the military pay law.

Recipients

The following soldiers relate military pay:

  • Voluntary military service ( FWD)
  • Reservists suppliers of services ( RDL ) ( compulsory military service reservists )

In contrast, time soldiers get ( ssl ) and professional soldiers no military pay, but as civil servants a salary in accordance with the Federal Pay Act.

Particularity

In principle, all voluntary conscripts in their total of six to 23 months of service military pay, but soldiers, because of voluntary declaration as already served two years ( ssl ) are prompted to entering the service, from the very beginning a civil service salaries.

Tax exemption

The pure military pay is tax free. Be rated at service conditions from January 1, 2013, among others: the military service surcharge, special grants and unpaid room and board.

Military pay types

  • Military pay daily rate ( per diem gem. Military pay group), exempt from income tax
  • Military service surcharge (all soldiers in FWD)
  • Severance pay
  • Increased military pay (similar to the payment of overtime)

Military pay groups

Military pay for each day since 1 January 2008:

  • € 9.41 Soldier (depending on the branch of service and contactors, pilot, sailor, etc. )
  • € 10.18 Corporal
  • € 10.95 Obergefreiter
  • € 11.71 Hauptgefreiter
  • € 13.25 Stabsgefreiter, Upper Corporal, Sergeant, Maat, staff sergeant, petty officer, cadet
  • € 13.76 Sergeant, Ensign, Sergeant
  • € 14.27 Sergeant, Senior Cadet, Sergeant, Sergeant Major, Lieutenant
  • € 14.78 Lieutenant
  • € 15.29 Captain
  • € 15.80 High Captain, Major, Surgeon
  • € 16.32 Lieutenant Colonel, Medical Corps, Oberfeldarzt
  • € 16.83 colonel, doctor
  • € 17.85 all Generals-/Admiralsdienstgrade

Others

Military pay recipients receive in addition to the military pay further benefits under the military pay law and may the Maintenance Guarantee Act. The job protection law also ensures the convened for military services workers or officials for the following employment or service relationship.

Officials and public employees, which are used to military services ( convened ), are entitled to continued payment of their salaries.
