Milorad Gajović

Milorad Gajovic (born 27 July 1974 in Nikšić ) is a boxer from Montenegro. He won, then starting yet for Yugoslavia at the 2000 European Championships bronze medal in the light heavyweight division.

Career

Milorad Gajovic comes from the Montenegrin Podgorica. He began in the former Yugoslavia in his youth with the boxes. In international championships but he shows up only in 2000, when he was already 26 years old. Immediately on his first start in an international championship, the 2000 European Championships in Tampere, he scored his biggest success of his career boxers. He won a bronze medal there in the light heavyweight division. In the semifinals he was going to the Russian Alexander Lebsiak documents.

In the Mediterranean Games in Tunis in 2001 he had a further success. He won the tournament there in the heavyweight division and won the final over Omar Bellaouati from France. Also in the 2003 World Cup in Bangkok, he showed good fights. He suggested there György Hidvégi from Hungary by demolition in the third round, defeating Uselkow Vyacheslav from Ukraine on points. In the quarterfinals, he delivered the high Odlanier Solís favorites from Cuba a balanced long-distance battle and was defeated narrowly with 17:20 points. He finished at this World Cup so fifth place.

In 2004, he won the tournament Beogradski Pobednik in Belgrade in the heavyweight division with a final victory over Christos Filippou from Cyprus. None had success Milorad Gajovic at the 2006 European Championship in Plovdiv, because he left in the first preliminary round encounter with a demolition defeat against József Darmos from Hungary.

At the 2007 World Championships in Chicago Milorad Gajovic get three wins. He won against Ali Mazaheri of Iran ( 20:9 ) and Vedran Đipalo from Croatia ( 22:12) on points and defeated the Scots Stephen Simmons by termination in the fourth round. It was not until he retired in the quarterfinals to eventual champion Clemente Russo from Italy with one defeat ( 2:15 ). He finished in fifth place again.

In 2008, he first tried in Pescara, to qualify for participation in the Olympic Games in Beijing. After a points victory over Lukáš Viktora from the Czech Republic ( 18:9 ) he failed there, but with one defeat in the next fight against Elchin Alisade from Azerbaijan ( 9:17 ). The next European qualifying tournament in Athens, he used the last available opportunity and qualified with point victories over Mihalis Filippou from Cyprus ( 22:1 ), Colak Ananikjan from Armenia ( 19:14 ), Elchin Alisade ( 29:16 ) and Helias Pavlidis, Greece ( 4:3) for participation in the Olympic Games 2008.

In Beijing, he met in the first round again to the Greeks Pavlidis, defeated with 3:7 points and retired at an early stage of the tournament.
