Minichamps

Minichamps is a world of represented manufacturers of high quality die-cast car models for adult collectors and car enthusiasts.

The company maintains its headquarters with Research, development, marketing, sales and warehouse in Aachen and employs a staff of 45 here. The production takes place in China in certified factory shop, there are largely taking place in handmade manufacturing about 3,000 employees worked exclusively with the company's products Minichamps. Minichamps was one of the first companies to try by this method, to keep the price for a handmade collector's item for the end customer in affordable limits. The company was founded as Paul's Model Art GmbH in 1990 and renamed in 1996 Minichamps GmbH. The company has more than 12,000 different vehicles developed and produced as thumbnails. The annual production is currently around three million units. Overall Minichamps has so far produced about 30 million models. The market share in the common collector 1:43 scale is approximately 60 percent. The company received in 2007 in four votes of the magazine " model car " a first prize. Sales are made in Germany about 1000 dealer.

Customers around the globe includes celebrities from racing, industry and media. Some car manufacturers such as Daimler, Audi, Porsche and BMW, the company responsible for the production of official replicas of new vehicle models. Since January 2008, visitors can trace the Minichamps - story in the company's museum in Aachen.

Product

The annually changing program includes around 1200 different miniatures from the fields F1, racing, cars, trucks, buses, vans, vintage and classic cars, agricultural and military vehicles as well as motorcycles in scales 1:2, 1:6, 1:8, 1:12, 1:18, 1:24 and 1:43.

Added each year about 600 new products. The development of a Minichamps model in 1:43 scale takes approximately eight months in 1:18 scale due to the higher number of parts and more features about a year. At times, model series such as Michael Schumacher and McLaren were produced at a scale of 1:64 under the brand name Micro Champs, but were set back by now.

The prices of individual models are between 30 and 250 euros, in particular looking and in smaller numbers produced car models that were released as promotional products only to a small circle of customers, achieved in internet auctions have prices above U.S. $ 1000, such as the McLaren F1 from a promotion of the cigarette brand West.
