Mino Reitano
Beniamino " Mino " Reitano ( born December 7, 1944 in Fiumara near Reggio Calabria, † 27 January 2009 Agrate Brianza area, near Monza ) was an Italian pop singer, songwriter and composer.
Life
Reitano, a child of poor parents, whose mother died at the age of 27 when he was born, studied eight years at the Conservatory of Reggio Calabria, with an emphasis on piano, violin and trumpet.
He wrote almost all of his songs himself, often in collaboration with his brother Franco. Also for other artists he wrote. The interpreted by Ornella Vanoni song Una ragione di più, for in 1969 he composed the music along with his brother Franco, Italy is considered classical evergreens.
Initially made Reitano with his brothers under names such as Fratelli Reitano ( Reitano brothers ) rock-' n'- roll music. In 1961 she released her first single. This earned them a product to a TV magazine. In the same year he moved the brothers for one and a half years after Germany, where they performed in the Hamburg Star Club, among others, in addition to the Beatles.
On her return to Italy, the brothers had initially no major successes. Mino Reitano but took the mid-1960s for the first time at the famous music festival of Sanremo and Castrocaro part and soon became a part of the established Italo - pop scene. In 1968 he had his first major success with Avevo un cuore ( che ti amava tanto ). By the year 1969, he became so successful that he was able to acquire a larger homestead in Agrate Brianza at Monza, which he called " Reitanopoli " and where he settled with his entire extended family.
Occasionally Reitano also appeared as "pure" actor in films, so 1971 in Tara Poki or a year later in the thriller Five mystery death.
Until the 1980s into the romantic singer had continued success with the tenor voice; but also after material was published by him sporadically over again. Reitano was always a welcome guest on numerous television programs.
In 2007 he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. After two surgeries, the last in November 2008, he died in January 2009 at the age of 64 years on his homestead. The Italian public adopted him with great sympathy.
