Minusio

Minusio, ( dt date: Maniss, Swiss German Minüüs, from the local Lombard dialect) is a municipality on Lake Maggiore in the circle Navegna, in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

Geography

Minusio is a neighbor place of Locarno and is located between Lake Maggiore and Monte Cardada. Minusio borders Muralto, Orselina, Avegno, Brione, Tenero and consists of the districts Borenco, Brighirolo, Cadogno, Ceresol, Ciossi, Fontile, Frizzi, Mappo, Mezzo, Mondacce and Rivapiana.

  • In the district of " Rivapiana ," the lake, is the Catholic Church of San Quirico. The 1313 first mentioned church was rebuilt in the 18th century in the Baroque style.
