MIPSel

Mipsel denotes a MIPS architecture that uses as little endian byte order. As with almost all MIPS microprocessors, the byte order is switchable, one uses the term only in processors, where the use of Little Endian is already set as the byte order.

Also in delivering software packages or for a mipsel cross-compiler for little endian systems and a mips for big endian systems shall be inserted in the naming.
