Mirco Bergamasco

Mirco Bergamasco ( born February 23, 1983 in Padova ) is an Italian rugby union player who is active for Racing Métro 92 and the Italian national team. He plays on the positions of wings and full inner three-quarters.

Career

Bergamasco comes from a rugby loving family, his father Arturo was winger for Italy and his brother Mauro plays with him at Stade Français and the national team. He began with the rugby at Selvazzano Rugby, where his father and his brother were active. In 1999 he followed to Mauro Petrarca Padova Rugby. 2003, the two brothers went to France for Stade Français, where for seven years she belonged to the same team. In 2010 they parted ways when he moved to Paris 92 city rivals Racing Métro.

His debut in the national team, he was in 2002 against France. With the Six Nations 2003, he was first-team regular and was used among other things in the historic victory over Wales. In three of the five games of the tournament he laid each a try and was consequently nominated for the World Cup. Since then, he belongs to the undisputed pillars of the Italian selection. In 2007, he won his second World Cup tournament.
