Formation

In 1723, an anonymous report about the life and deeds of Miriways, Protector of Persia, was published under the title " The persianische Cromwell, or the life and deeds of the Miri - ways". This was historically so incorrect, because actually his son Mir Mahmud Hotaki Isfahan has conquered in 1722. Johann Samuel Müller formed from this report a story that represents Miriways as a just and far-sighted ruler.

Action

The scene is Isfahan, the Persian residence of Miriways. The plot tells how the Afghan tribal leader Miriways after a military victory in fact, has been used as king in the conquered province of the Persian prince Sophi, a son of the deposed Shah.

Miriways confers with Sami damage, his secret wife. Nisibis is a widow, and loves Murzah who hardly dares her to confess his love. This takes advantage of Zemir to Nisibis to move opposite the right light and displace Murzah.

The very first conversation between Miriways and Sami damage exposed the subject of the opera from which to develop the conflict: the collision of individual inclination and duty, where the concept of reasonable love into play. Although Miriways once had to leave his beloved wife, he demands a marriage for reasons of state. Sophi defends himself to the stubbornness and wants Bemira remain faithful. Bemira but conjures Sophi to follow Miriways and is willing - even if in great pain - to give up their love. Nisibis device by Zemirs intrigue in the terminal; he lets them believe that he had saved them from the flames of her garden house. The convention would require that it connects with the supposed savior. Because of their love for Murzah she reluctant but.
